Therapy
Stress,
depression and anxiety are present in most everyone’s life
in some degree for many different reasons. When they reach
the point in which they interfere with an individual’s
ability to function in a relatively satisfying manner,
psychotherapy, or “talk” therapy has been effective for many
people in promoting personal growth, facilitating change, and easing
symptoms.
If you are
seeking therapy, it is very important that you feel “allied”
with your therapist, that the relationship is a “fit”. Look at your first
appointment as a session to “try out” your potential
therapist, especially if you have had experiences in therapy
previously that you were not satisfied with in some way.
Don’t be shy about asking questions, or being open
concerning what you are seeking.
You may
find the the articles Dr. Ugolini has written regarding the
therapeutic process helpful. Click on the Articles tab to view “Inspired by a Trash Truck” and
“Not for Sissies”. From her perspective, spiritual development is as integral a
part of our humanity as are our physical, emotional, social and
intellectual development. Her personal
worldview and cultural experience are Judeao-Christian,
however, she respects all religious beliefs and worldviews. Dr. Ugolini
is not currently taking new therapy clients, but a list of
recommended therapists is available under Resources.
